Carol Walser Robey, MD

I have had a lifelong interest in art and always loved drawing the world around me.  I studied art in college at Harvard.  I worked as a scientific illustrator for my biology professors, but I elected to pursue a career in medicine.  I worked as a pediatrician for 30 years and raised two children, but I never lost the desire to create.

I started painting ten years ago.   My classes began with local artists, including Kevin Dadoly and Stephen Previte, David Curtis and Mary Minifie.  Since 2013 I joined the studio of Paul Ingbretson  and have painted full time since my retirement in 2015.

I strive to incorporate classical ideals with impressionistic technique.  This Boston School approach to color, value, and edge informs my approach.  I focus on landscape and floral paintings.  I am fortunate to have a summer home in Gloucester and strive to capture the beauty of the region in my work.   My paintings can be seen at the Guild of Boston Artists.  I won the Silver Prize this year at the 2019 New England Juried show at the Guild.  I am a juried artist member at North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, MA.  I also have paintings at NH Antique Coop in Milford, NH.
